Its all coming to life!
Was away yesterday for a walk checking on lots of phantom planted fruit trees I planted over the years to see how they were doing.
I've got that many now I keep forgetting to go and check on certain ones.
The whole walk to this other wild phantom planted orchard we have is littered with native trees that I've been phantom planting over the years.
Thats what I used to do was phantom plant native trees on the routes I normally would have walked around so I can always check on them.
It's some feeling when you see phantom planted birch trees bigger than you and hawthorns and willows thriving!
This time of year though, its so stimulating and connecting watching all your little acts of environmental graffiti grow like champions and watch all sorts of wildlife enjoy what I have done.
Its all karma yoga for me.
When I first started to read about karma yoga in Buddhism, its a selfless practice that benefits others or nature without seeking anything in return. It's a form or prayer in action that has the power to heal and purify you.
I knew when I first started practicing Buddhism that sitting meditating for long periods of time was maybe not best suited for my character. I still do my meditations most days but its a real sticking point for me. Too many years looking over my shoulder in the underworld has me kind of on edge and a bit overactive.
So sitting too long at times meditating for me can create lots of resistance which is not good either. it'll be a very slow process for me to master long sits of meditation. I do intend on getting better at it though as I grow older. Drop by drop as the Buddha says....
Phantom planting trees as my karma yoga practice is what I can do right now with the energy that I have.
Horses for courses in this life and getting out planting and chanting is my Forte!
Karma yoga in itself is also said to be a path to enlightenment.
You really have to be pure with your intentions when practicing karma yoga, it cant be for your ego or to take some moral high ground. You cant fool the Dharma.
It has to be completely selfless and for the benefit of others.
Growing up in the ratrace and underworld is the polar opposite to Karma yoga. All we are doing living in the underworld is diminishing the soul. When we live in Karma yoga we enrich and elevate the soul to new realms. Realms that I never believed existed.
Sometimes I look back over my life when I was stuck in darkness and I can see back then that my spiritual eyes had not developed yet to see what I see now. My consciousness had not evolved yet. My senses were not ready to hear the teachings of the Buddha. I had way too much negative karma dirtying my soul, I was blind to the Buddha's teachings.
As I started to practice good karma and as my bad karma ripened my soul seed was being watered and begun to open to see new realms like never before. Its all been around us the whole time, all this beauty and magic. We just haven't developed our soul senses to connect with it.
Get planting and chating today guys and purify your soul...
Peace and love
The Phantom Planter
