A positive and constructive day!

A good mate of mine who has always helped me out with the Phantom Planter from day one works for Thales Aerospace company in Belfast.

The company have been offering their workers 3 days paid leave a year to go and help out in community projects and my big mate said could he go and help out The Phantom Planter. The company agreed to this and my big mate came down to our orchard with his daughter and got stuck in pulling weeds and grass back from all the hundreds of fruit trees we have at the Phantom Planters HQ.

His daughter was a big help also getting stuck in and making sure all the rubbish was collected with her litter picker. Even the cold wet day we had yesterday didnt put her off.

She was a big help. Thank you!

My mate also give us a hand filling up the raised beds in our new apple tree nursery we are building.

This is an amazing thing that this company is doing for its staff, if any of you out there have some community projects going on and may need some helpers it might be a good idea to get in touch with Thales in East Belfast.

I hear lots of the workers dont really know what to volunteer for so maybe put forward some ideas.

It always feels good when you spend your days doing something positive and constructive for the community and nature, it brings about a nice feeling of contentment at the end of the day.

The world is a crazy place out there and so much of it is magnified these days with technology in our faces every minute of the day.

I think we all need to go out every day and do something positive and constructive, putting out much needed good deeds into this crazy fear driven world. This is the only antidote to all this madness really.

Revenge and hate are a poison, I've been poisoned with these emotions in the past, its lack of control of our own minds really. All our suffering comes from our minds. We put so much effort into controlling everything around us and none into controlling our own minds and emotions.

I've had a few things niggle at me recently, people messing me about in the Business world, it was hard for me yesterday to take time out and work at the orchard but today looking back it was the perfect antidote.

Many years ago my antidote was drink an drugs. What a fool.

The path to liberation is never going to be an easy one.

The purpose of Buddhism is to analyze your own self daily, asking yourself, what am I doing about my pride, my ego, my attachment, my greed, my jealousy and so on.

Once we start to look within like this we begin to realise that all our suffering is self created.

You know its believed that when we attain total liberation/ enlightenment we become indestructible. I heard a monk say once that you cant kill a Buddha, an enlightened one. They say when they leave this world and how they leave it and are in complete control from one incarnation to te next or what realm they enter also.

Quite mind blowing really, I do believe it though, if you follow the Buddhist teachings with devotion its attainable for all.

Buddhism for me is the antidote to all this mad world right now!

Maybe go and phantom plant a tree today. Create good vibes guys!

Peace and love
