Some quantum entangled going on!
Theres some quantum entanglement going on with these 2 trees I'm planting in memory of 2 of my best mates parent.
This apple tree that I've named "Phantom Special" was cuttings from an apple tree that Judiths son had told me about while out walking with his mum one day. They noticed how many big red apples were on it and said to me that I must go and see it.
I had went for many years after they told to pick apples from the tree with my son and other kids. Then a couple of years ago they started building houses around the tree and I had talked to the contractors telling them to please leave this tree alone and can they let it stay.
I kept going back to keep an eye on it then one day it had been ripped out by the roots and it was gone!!! Felt so sad that day!!
I managed to find a few broken branches and did a post on here to see if anyone could save the variety of apple tree with these few broken branches as they were so nice and tasty.
Des Scholes from Nairn in Scotland said for me to post him the branches and he'll try and graft them for me onto new rootstock to try and save them. Within a few days I had them sent special delivery to Des and then sent back to me all grafted up.
Nearly all of them took and I now have 5 or so really good trees growing in pots that are a couple of years old.
My Big pal who is from Scotland is bringing his mum over on the boat to plant a memorial tree in memory of his dad Hugh Davidson this week.
This will be the first tree planted in our new memorial orchard.
Thought it was pretty cool that these trees have been to Scotland and back and now getting planted in memory of a Scotsman!
Uncanny the connections going on here with this tree!
I have no idea the variety of this tree and I've never seen one like it before, but they are really big red juicy sweet apples. I'm claiming this one as "The Phantom Special"..
When the ones I have get really big and I can get more cuttings of them for grafting creating hundreds more phantom special apple trees, I'm going to go back and cover this whole new housing development with baby apple trees from where its mother tree once stood.
