Planting experiments.
80 fruit trees have been planted in the new orchard this week. I really didnt anticipate it taking so long.
We have 3 rows of 20 trees that have been planted using a mix of good quality compost and some feed, taking away and discarding the grass tuff and planting them the way I would plant on council land which is the way I would like to have did them all but doing them this way really has put the time and cost up for me.
So for the rest of the trees we are just going to use the soil thats there, no feed and turn the grass tuff upside down and put it back in the hole. This way will save so much more time and money as we have another 220 apple trees to plant.
This will also be the perfect experiment to see how much of a difference there is in the growth and health of the trees between the different methods of planting.
I'll do a video later of the method of planting I'm doing.
I'm also going to go to the forest and get some rotted mulch that will be full of forest mycelium and add in the holes before planting.
I will do this on a row of trees to observe this overtime too, taking notes of what experiments I'm doing.
I'm going to collect this mulch from near the oldest oak in Ireland. This stuff will be full of ancient Mycorrhizal fungi that will spread across our new orchard.
Lisnabreeny Community Orchard is going to be quite the magical place when it's all done.
Lisnabreeny translates in Irish
"fort of the fairy dwelling":
I've always said from the start of my planting journey,
"With the backings of the Buddhas and the Fairies the Phantom Planters will rise"
And then I get offered a field to plant up in a place called Lisnabreeny!!!
I mean what more signs do you need that your on the right path in life!
"Those who don't believe in magic will never find it"...
I challenge you all to phantom. Plant a tree this week. Tell me in the comments how many you've planted!
Peace and love...
