Great day in Narnia!

Went for our weekly dander up the Mournes yesterday, was a windy one up there! Gusts at the top must have been 100mph, literally you had to get on all fours in parts of it, Unreal.

Definitely puts a bit of life in you heading up to places like that in cold windy days.

Never do you come back from a mountain dander and say, well that was a waste of time!

We are so lucky here in Belfast to have the Mourne mountains AKA Narnia just an hour down the road. This was the place CS Lewis got his inspiration from for Narnia as he walked here often.

I've gotten much of my inspiration from up there also. Been walking it most weeks now for years.

Think its important we all take time out and go to places like this for the day. It resets the mind or something.

We can get so caught up meaningless BS at times and when we go to places like mountains we realize we're just a speck of dust on this planet and nothing is really worth worrying or stressing about.

Got back from there and headed straight to the oldest oak tree in Ireland near The Phantom Planters HQ.

I wanted to get a bag of mulch and dirt from around this part of an ancient forest.

I dug down a good bit in parts of it to try and get some mycelium. This stuff will contain lots of good organisms that I want to introduce to our new orchard.

We are planting about 60 apple trees today and I'm going to put a small handful of this stuff in with each tree I plant.

Bringing the magic of the oldest oak in Ireland to our new heritage apple orchard.

Found a big bit of rotted beefsteak fungi on the oldest oak and will break that up through the mix.

Cant see that being a problem as beefsteak I think only breaks down dying oak trees.

Crazy whats going on out there in the world of nature with certain mushrooms that will only live and interact with certain species of trees.

Me personally though I believe our intentions with nature will determine the outcome. I've seen it time and time again people who have had no interest when I take them tree planting, they are just there for social media likes and image and the tree has died.

Then I've seen hoods from estates come along with a half dead tree and I've maybe said to them that their tree may not make it mate and one said its my grannies tree, it'll be sweet!

Years later the tree is thriving!

If all that mycelium magic is happening underground with trees communicating with each other through this fungi network, who's to say we cant communicate with it either?

I've seen and witnessed many weird and wonderful things in my phantom planting mission, things that if I was to say I might get sectioned. So I'll leave it for a children's story book I'm going to write one day!

Although these days society is fast becoming a bit of a mental asylum, so my stories may not seem so crazy!

Anyhow back out at it today, the Paramili-Tree inner council is meeting up to get stuck into planting some apple trees!

Creating Northern Irelands largest community heritage orchard!

Have a great day guys....

And I challenge you all to phantom plant a tree!

Peace and love....
