Its all branching out like a tree!
Have had some amazing good news guys.
Was away last night meeting a very nice man who is offering us land to plant up a community orchard on.
Literally within one day of setting up the gofund page to help raise money to phantom plant the 320 native Irish apple trees I have someone has got in touch offering me land to do this project.
I was going to be phantom planting these 320 apple trees around a few different locations in South Belfast but this man who has gotten in touch says he wants to offer his land to be used for something good.
There is around 3 or so acres and its just outside South Belfast.
I have stated to him that this must be a public orchard for the community to visits freely as and when they want and he's happy with that.
I'm planning on making many of these trees memorial trees were family's can have the opportunity of coming and planting a memorial apple tree for their past loved ones.
I have also said to the man that the land would need to be put into a sort of community trust so that the land can never be sold if god for bid something was to happen to him.
It all seems a bit too good to be true.
I've been wanting to plant up one massive heritage Irish apple orchard for sometime now and this has landed on my lap!
And with it being so close to where I'm living it really is pretty magical.
Will keep you all posted guys.
Going to go back and have another chat with him soon.
So great to connect with other like minded people out there who are all doing their bit for the community and nature.
It's whats needed big time!
I have to give a special thanks to Tony Mallon from NI Peoples party for putting this together.
Tony has been a big support to my mission right from day one.
Thank you to everyone who has been supporting the GoFundMe me page so far.
I'm hopeful we will raise the full money before planting time comes this December and move onto our next projects in expanding our heritage apple tree nursery site so we can produce 1000 apple trees a year.
Its all coming together beautifully and branching out like a tree.
If you'd like to support this very special mission you can do so on the links below and if you'd like to have a memorial tree planted get in touch also.
